Abeiku Santana best known who real name is Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey Santana was born on 16 February 1977( age 44years old) in Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana. He started his basic education in Koforidua at Nana Kwaku Boateng Experimental School. He attended Secondary School at the Ordinary Level at Ghana National College, Cape Coast.

At the Advanced level, he completed Ghana Secondary School in Koforidua. After his national service with National Archives, Public Records Department in 1996, he joined radio in 1997. Santana is an alumni of Litigation Law at New York Paralegal School. He obtained his degree in Public administration at Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) in 2010.

Career

Santana worked with Radio Z now Eastern Fm in Koforidua from 1997 to 1999. He then moved to Radio Mercury, Kumasi, from 1999-2001.

In 2002, Santana joined Multimedia Group Company Limited, owners of Adom FM, where he was the host of Ofiekwanso, a drive-time program from 2pm to 6pm weekdays. He is currently with Okay Fm as the station’s Drive Time host.

Santana was honored at the Pan-African Executives Awards Summit 2018. In July 2020 , he won Special Recognition Award for Tourism Marketing and Promotion at the annual Exclusive Men of the Year 2020. He also won the Radio and Television Personality of the Year 2020.

In March 2021, he was appointed as an ambassador for the Ghana’s COVID-19 Trust Fund.

In 2019, Santana’s daughter Nana Aba Aggrey, died at age 4 at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on June 7 whilst undergoing surgery. Rumors’ around media houses and blogpost said that he has used his daughter for rituals which he later came out to deny the allegations.
