Chasen Joseph Schneider was born on December 31, 1991 (age 30 years) in Los Angeles, California, United States. He is the son of John Schneider and Elly Castle. He is also the brother of Leah Schneider and Karis Schneider. His sister Karis is an actress and his other sister Leah is a film director.
Chasen Schneider lived in San Antonio, Texas with his family for three years as a toddler before moving back to the Los Angeles area. They settled in Agoura Hills, where he grew up and participated in the school theater. At the age of eleven, Chasen attended The Columbia Gorge School of Theater in Washington state. It was there that he first learned the Meisner technique, as taught by Jesse Merz, as well as singing, dance, film acting, movement and other theater arts. He went back every summer up to 2009 or a total of seven summers.

Chasen Joseph Schneider’s father was born in Mount Kisco, New York, the youngest of three boys for Shirley Conklin (1932-2016) and John “Jack” Schneider III (1930-2013), a pilot who had served in the U.S. Air Force. His mother is from Sanford, Florida. His family included an older brother Robert, an artist living in southern New York. His other brother (also called John) died of lung failure age 3, three years before John’s birth.
