Marco Fiola

Marco Fiola is a Canadian principal and is well known as the partner of politician Rob Oliphant. Fiola is the current principal of Glendon College – York University.

He was past president of the Canadian Association for Translation Studies, and author of numerous articles on language barriers, translator and interpreter training as well as interpreter certification.

His current research interests include language tools for community interpreters and the usability of translated material. He is also a certified Translator and Terminologist (ATIO). He is a member of the Yeates School of Graduate Studies, the M.A. in Immigration and Settlement Studies, the Ryerson/York Joint Graduate Program in Communication and Culture, as well as of the Law Research Centre at Ryerson University.

Marco Fiola is currently working on developing online legal glossaries. Published with the University of Ottawa Press the third edition of La traduction raisonnée, a comprehensive English-French translation textbook, which he has co-authored.
