Shawn Robert Ashmore was born on October 7, 1979 (age 42 years) in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. He is the son of Linda Ashmore and Rick Ashmore. His mother is a homemaker and his father Rick Ashmore is a manufacturing engineer. He was raised in St. Albert, Alberta and Brampton, Ontario, where he attended Earnscliffe Senior Public School and Turner Fenton Secondary School.
Ashmore’s twin brother, Aaron Ashmore, is also an actor. Shawn and his brother have played twins in several movies, but have also pursued roles independently.
